HUD announced to give $16 million for the permanent housing of homeless veterans.

71 Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) around the country have received $16.1 million in HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) vouchers from the U.S. Departments of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Veterans Affairs (VA). With the aid of these vouchers, homeless Veterans and their families can find long-term housing.

HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge said, ‘We’re thrilled to provide these new HUD-VASH vouchers to 71 public housing agencies nationwide to combat veteran homelessness. These vouchers will assist homeless veterans and their families in finding affordable housing, reflecting our commitment to ending veteran homelessness.

To support veterans experiencing homelessness, the HUD-VASH program combines HUD rental assistance with VA case management and clinical services.
